2 Clinical Fellowship Positions Boston VA

The VA Boston Healthcare System announces TWO Clinical Fellowship (CF) positions for Fiscal Year 2019.  The starting date will be within the time frame of July through September 2018 negotiable depending on the availability of the successful candidate.

Recruitment begins NOW.  Applications will be accepted through February 16, 2017.

The appointment is 12 months, 2080 hours.

The stipend is $43,343 + benefits

TWO full-time, one year (12 month) CF positions available.

*must be a US Citizen for this opportunity. 

*Applicants with a strong academic background in adult anatomy, cognitive-communication disorders, dysphagia, evidence-based practice, language disorders, neuroscience, neurogenic communication disorders, and voice are preferred.

Tentative start date is July through September 2018.   We intend to offer TWO distinct experiences with opportunity to share populations and settings for limited prescribed intervals.  One focus will be on Geriatric Care, one focus on Rehab/Acute Care.

VA Boston Healthcare System provides more traineeships to budding healthcare professionals than any VA in the country and the interprofessional experience is unmatched.  VABHS is the largest consolidated facility in VISN 1, encompasses 3 main campuses and our staff consists of 6.0 FTEE. The consolidated facility consists of the Jamaica Plain Campus, located in the heart of Boston’s Longwood Medical Community; the tertiary care West Roxbury Campus, located on the Dedham line; and the Brockton Campus, located 20 miles south of Boston.

    New York Neurogenic SLP on the Upper West Side is hiring for the role of Supervising SLP. The primary role for this clinician is to not only manage a full time schedule of patients but to provide direct supervision and clinical education for graduate students from across the country. Experience working with kids and adults is an absolute requirement. CCC-SLP at least 9 months post CF. The clinician's caseload has students assigned to approximately 85% of cases, therefore the candidate needs to have strong organizational skills, mentoring skills, clinical confidence, inter-professional skills, and the desire to help shape future clinicians.
