The Speech Pathology Section at the Tibor Rubin VA Medical Center is pleased to announce a Clinical Fellowship position with a desired start date of October 2018. The Clinical Fellowship is a full time position with a compensation package that includes salary, health benefits, and sick and annual leave. This is a temporary appointment that will last for one year. Only US citizens are eligible to apply.

Located along the Southern California coast, the medical center provides comprehensive inpatient, outpatient, and extended care programs. The Tibor Rubin VA Medical Center is a 237 bed facility providing primary, secondary, and tertiary health care in medicine, surgery, psychiatry, and rehabilitation medicine. It supports a 99 bed Community Living Center and a 90 bed Spinal Cord Injury Center. In addition, the Tibor Rubin VA Medical Center is a Level III Polytrauma Center.

The Clinical Fellow can expect to gain experience in all areas of medical speech pathology, including evaluation and treatment of individuals with speech, language, cognitive, voice, and swallowing disorders. In addition, the Clinical Fellow will receive training and experience in the following: fluoroscopic and endoscopic swallowing evaluations, augmentative communication, laryngeal stroboscopy, and post-laryngectomy voice restoration. Patients are seen along the continuum of care from intensive care, acute rehabilitation, outpatient care, and long-term care.
