Full time SLP - VA Northern California

VA Northern California Health Care System is pleased to announce a new, permanent, full time position for a speech-language pathologist

in the Audiology & Speech-Language Pathology Service.

This position is located in the Sacramento Valley Group of VANCHCS, with duty station on the Mather campus.

The primary responsibility of this position is to travel to assess and treat patients who are homebound.

Links to the announcement are below – one for VA employees and one for the public. (External announcement) (Internal)

In this position, you will join a team of 8 speech-language pathologists; three in the East Bay Group, one in Washington State, three in the Sacramento Valley Group, and one in Redding and Chico.  Despite the geographical distribution this team works closely together in patient management, and information sharing. Tele-speech-language pathology is an integral part of our service delivery platform, as is group treatment, including groups co-managed with clinical staff from other services.

The speech-language pathology clinic in Northern California is growing and offers the opportunity to develop subspecialty skills.

Sacramento is the capital of California and perfectly situated in the northern portion of California's expansive Central Valley. You can drive an hour west to the ocean

and an hour east to the mountains. Sacramento has a sunny climate and warm-hot temperature during the summer months, which are perfect for water recreation on the two rivers (Sacramento River & American River) that converge in our city. Ample opportunity for recreation can be found with easy driving distance: hiking and camping in the Sierra Mountains

and National Parks, wine tasting in Napa and Sonoma counties, or exploring San Francisco. We are home to a diverse population

of nearly 500,000 people making us the 6thlargest city in California.

Please contact Janet Patterson for additional information.
