The Institute for Head and Neck and Thyroid Cancer at Mount Sinai Downtown Union Square in New York City is accepting clinical fellow applications for a speech-language pathology clinician with a strong interest and/or expertise in head and neck cancer. The Applicant will have completed a Master’s degree and have had strong experience in a hospital setting with significant exposure to voice, speech and swallowing with acute care adult evaluation and treatment. Experience with Modified Barium Swallow and FEES procedures is preferred. Interest and experience in treating patients with voice disorders is also a plus. It is anticipated that the Applicant will participate in clinical outcomes research protocols.
The THANC Foundation houses the Functional Outcomes Research Center, which includes a multidisciplinary team of physicians and allied health professionals. The THANC Research Center is supported by the THANC Foundation, an organization committed to supporting research and education in the early detection and treatment of thyroid and head and neck cancer, to advance new therapies, and to alleviate the suffering and functional impairment of patients who undergo treatment. The Mount Sinai Cancer Center within Mount Sinai Downtown Union Square interfaces with the THANC Foundation Outcomes Research Center to collaborate on numerous IRB-approved research protocols encompassing basic science and clinical outcomes areas. This position is jointly supported by the Thyroid, head and Neck Cancer (THANC) Foundation and the Department of Otolaryngology Head & neck Surgery, Mount Sinai Hospital System.
