Job Summary:We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) with Certification of Clinical Competence (CCC) to join our interdisciplinary team. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated expertise in the evaluation and treatment of adult patients with complex swallowing and communication disorders. Proficiency in Tracheoesophageal Puncture (TEP) management and conducting Modified Barium Swallow (MBS) studies is essential for this role.
Key Responsibilities:
Evaluate and treat patients with speech, language, voice, cognitive-communication, and swallowing disorders.
Perform and interpret Modified Barium Swallow (MBS) studies in collaboration with radiology.
Manage Tracheoesophageal Puncture (TEP) prostheses including assessment, replacement, and troubleshooting.
Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on clinical assessments and patient goals.
Collaborate with physicians, nurses, dietitians, and other members of the care team to ensure comprehensive patient care.
Provide patient and family education on communication strategies and safe swallowing techniques.
Maintain accurate documentation in accordance with facility standards and regulatory requirements.
Participate in continuing education and quality improvement initiatives.
Qualifications:
Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
Current licensure (or eligibility) as an SLP in New York.
Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in a hospital or outpatient setting.
Demonstrated expertise in TEP management and conducting/interpretation of MBS studies.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with head and neck cancer rehabilitation.
Familiarity with FEES (Flexible Endoscopic Evaluation of Swallowing) is a plus.
Multilingual skills are an asset.
