The Miami VA Healthcare System Audiology and Speech Pathology (ASP) Service is excited to announce a full time Clinical Fellowship opportunity for 2026-2027!

The Speech Pathology program at the Miami VA provides a wide range of services and a dynamic learning environment. The Clinical Fellow will provide diagnostic and intervention services to outpatients (including telehealth), inpatients, and Community Living Center (CLC) residents. The Clinical Fellow will work and collaborate closely with specialty and interdisciplinary teams including Otolaryngology, Radiology, Nutrition, Geriatrics, Spinal Cord, Neurology, Critical Care, Military to VA (Polytrauma), Radiation-Oncology, Home-Based Primary Care and Palliative Care. We provide the opportunity to gain experience with instrumental exams (fluoroscopy, FEES, videostroboscopy), evaluation and treatment of neurogenic communication disorders, as well as various special populations (head & neck cancer, post laryngectomy voice restoration, and neurodegenerative disorders). This is a full-time, competitive, funded position that offers a unique opportunity to engage with a full spectrum of comprehensive evaluative and therapeutic services for individuals with diverse diagnoses under direct mentorship. Typical speech-pathology related diagnoses seen at this facility include dysphagia, aphasia, cognitive-communication deficits, dysarthria, disfluency, apraxia, voice disorders, laryngectomy, and medically complex cases. The Southern Arizona VA in Tucson, AZ is offering an exciting Clinical Fellowship experience serving inpatients, outpatients, and rehabilitation residents of our Community Living Center. This dynamic setting provides training in evaluation and treatment of adults with cognitive-communication impairments, aphasia, motor speech disorders, dysphagia, and voice disorders. The Clinical Fellow will gain experience in performing swallow evaluations (bedside, fluoroscopic, and endoscopic), endoscopic voice evaluations, post-laryngectomy voice restoration, language and cognitive evaluations and treatment, gender-affirming voice and communication, SPEAK OUT! evaluations and treatment, as well as assistive technology for augmenting communication and cognition. The CF will work professionally with a variety of specialty services and interdisciplinary teams, such as ENT, Polytrauma/TBI clinic, ALS clinic, PT/OT, Nutrition, Nursing, and General Medicine.
