The ideal candidate will have demonstrated expertise in the evaluation and treatment of adult patients with complex swallowing and communication disorders. Proficiency in Tracheoesophageal Puncture (TEP) management and conducting Modified Barium Swallow (MBS) studies is essential for this role.

• Minimum commitment: 2 days per month (one must be a weekend)

The department seeks a New York State liensed and ASHA certified Speech Language Pathologist for a full-time acute care position with adults and opportunity for outpatient coverage.  The individual should possess a broad skill set in acute care speech-language pathology. Skill set should include competence and independence in clinical swallow evaluations, trach/PMV, MBS and FEES.  

Education: Master’s degree minimum requirement

Speech Language Pathologist - Per Diem Milstein/Allen Hospital

At NewYork-Presbyterian/Columbia University Medical Center our Speech-Language Pathologists help adult patients experiencing serious impairments to connect with the world around them. Under the supervision of the Manager of Speech-Language Pathology, you will work with adult and geriatric patients from the most acutely ill in our ICU/acute care units, the inpatient rehabilitation unit, to the outpatient setting. This position will be at the Milstein and Allen Hospital location.

This is a per diem position with flexibility to work shifts on Weekdays/Weekends/Holidays.

Preferred Criteria

• Experience assessing and treating medically complex adult patients, including ICU level patients.

This is a full-time (part time opportunities also available!) on-site role for a Medical Speech Language Pathologist located in Bronx, NY with opportunity for FEES training.

The Medical Speech Language Pathologist will be responsible for providing speech therapy services, treating dysphagia, communication disorders, and language disorders in patients at various medical facilities.

Qualifications

• Speech Therapy and Speech skills

• Experience in treating Dysphagia, Communication Disorders, and Language Disorders (will consider school based therapist/EI with mentoring available)

• Strong clinical skills and knowledge in speech therapy practices
