The Salt Lake City VA Health Care System is pleased to announce the availability of one Speech-Language Pathology Clinical Fellowship position for the 2026-2027 year. This is a temporary,
one-year appointment. It is a full-time (Mon-Fri; 40 hours/week) position, with a compensation package that includes salary, health benefits, and sick/annual leave. The position is tentatively scheduled to begin mid to late summer of 2026.
We collaborate with multiple disciplines including: emergency care, cardiology, neurology, oncology, otolaryngology, pulmonary, physical medicine and rehabilitation, radiology, nutrition, mental and behavioral health, geriatrics, caregiver support, homeless Veteran support, and more.
Over the course of this year long rotation, the CF gains competency in evaluation and treatment of cognitive-communication, language, motor speech, voice, and swallowing disorders in a variety of inpatient and outpatient settings. The CF receives training in instrumental assessment and treatment, including MBSS, FEES and videostroboscopy. And the CF will have the opportunity to participate working with a variety of comprehensive interdisciplinary teams including Comprehensive Integrated Inpatient Rehabilitation Program (CIIRP) and Amputation Specialty Program, Tracheostomy, TBI/Polytrauma, Spinal Cord Injury, ALS, Movement Disorders clinic and more.
Our facility is located on a 81 acre campus situated at the foot of the rugged Wasatch Mountain range overlooking the city below. The area offers a variety of outdoor recreational activities including hiking, biking, and world class skiing, along with excellent cultural venues and dining opportunities. Utah is also home to “The Mighty 5” National Parks which are all within about a 4 hour drive.
