The VA Puget Sound Health Care System Clinical Fellowship (CF) positions provide experience in Medical Speech Pathology with the adult population across two medical center campuses in Seattle, WA and American Lake (Lakewood, Washington). Rotations may include experiences in Acute Care, Inpatient Rehabilitation, Community Living Centers (Subacute Rehab), Spinal Cord Injury Unit, and other specialty outpatient clinics (e.g. ALS, Polytrauma, Stroke). The CF may also have opportunity for specialized training in endoscopy, post laryngectomy voice restoration, and assistive technology, and will work closely with a variety of specialty services and teams including Rehab Medicine, Nutrition, Otolaryngology, Neurology, Neuropsychology, Primary Care, Multiple Sclerosis, Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis, Spinal Cord Injury/Disease, and the Traumatic Brain Injury/Polytrauma Programs. There may also be potential opportunities to participate in national and local quality improvement programs, multidisciplinary team presentations, and surgical observations. Our staff Speech Pathologists are devoted to our training and mentoring program and CFs can expect to work closely with their clinical supervisors.
We are seeking applicants with a strong interest in Medical Speech Pathology, an ability to learn in a fast-paced environment, and a strong academic background, ideally with internship experience in a medical setting.
GENERAL INFORMATION AND REQUIREMENTS:
CF positions are temporary appointments, full time for twelve months; beginning late Summer or early Fall 2026.
40 hours per week (Monday-Friday) with a compensation package that includes a stipend of $47,472 plus medical and leave benefits.
Only US citizens are eligible to apply.
Graduation from a fully accredited Speech Language Pathology graduate program (M.A. or M.S.) is required.
